What employees need in a workstation isn’t always obvious even to them. Jeff Reuschel, Haworth’s Global Director of Design and Innovation, after research, states that there are 4 foundational elements that play an important role on how the physical space and objects within it can allow people to do their best work.

A sense of place, namely, the feeling of ownership and inclusion is important to everyone. Unconstrained space, allowing people options in location, position, posture or orientation. Managed distractions (stimuli). And displayed thinking by converting information and ideas into visual stimuli such us sentences, shapes, diagrams etc.
