Asset Interiors team at Orgatec 2024!

Keeping up to date with the latest developments and trends in workplace design is a priority for us.

With enthusiasm, our team once again attended Orgatec, the most important trade fair focusing on workplace design, which takes place every two years in Cologne.

Major brands from all over the world gathered under the roof of Orgatec 2024 for four days, offering a space for inspiration and exchange of views on the workplace world of tomorrow.

Our team had the opportunity to study emerging design and product trends, with the aim of refreshing our product collection. Our goal is always to create an inspiring showroom where our clients will have the opportunity for a unique experience !

Trends

Four days full of multiple stimuli to all senses. The goal is common to all : well being. Solutions and products that focus on sustainability, use of smart technological applications, flexible products, able to meet diversified needs and support the value of inclusion in the physical working environment

Focusing on the main trends that are redefining the office environment, we can single out:

Sustainability

A key takeaway was the growing emphasis on sustainability in workspaces. The event highlighted how architects, designers and organizations are integrating eco-friendly practices into the office environment. Companies are increasingly showcasing their commitment to eco-friendly practices, prioritizing sustainability as a core principle in workplace design. This trend reflects a broader shift toward creating work environments that are not only functional but also environmentally responsible, demonstrating that sustainability is no longer a choice but a necessity for modern workplaces.

In Asset we are dedicated to sourcing sustainable products that meet the necessary documentation standards, supporting our clients’ efforts to achieve LEED and WELL certifications. These products are designed to adhere to sustainability principles throughout their entire lifecycle, embracing the concept of a circular economy. Even at the end of their lifecycle, these products are designed to be recyclable, minimizing waste and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Colors & Organic design in workspaces

The power of color in workplace design was a major theme. Color integration can enhance both aesthetics and functionality in the office. Many designs incorporated nature-inspired palettes, aligning with the biophilic trend, while others embraced bold, statement colors to foster creativity and individuality. The event highlighted how strategic use of color not only boosts visual appeal but also influences mood, productivity, and well-being in the workplace. Moreover, organic design was another prominent trend that emerged during our visit to Orgatec. More and more brands presented furniture with rounded shapes, making it easier to create fluid, adaptable spaces that promote collaboration and flexibility.

Acoustics

Acoustic solutions took center stage, with acoustic booths being at the forefront of many exhibition stands. These booths offer a practical response to the growing need for quiet, focused spaces in open-plan offices. Designed to reduce noise and enhance privacy, they come equipped with sound-absorbing materials and advanced acoustic technology. Many showcased models emphasizing in diversity and inclusion, flexibility, with modular designs that can be easily integrated into various work environments.

Moreover, open offices are adapting with better sound management, incorporating decorative acoustic products, and creative noise-absorbing elements to improve focus and comfort. PET felt is gaining popularity for its versatility and eco-friendliness. Beyond acoustic panels, it’s now being used in wall tiles, room dividers, and even sculptural furniture, merging sustainability with functional design.

Biophilic Design

Bringing the outdoors in! Integrating nature into workspaces has become popular, from lush greenery and organic materials to comfortable, homey breakout areas. Planters, green spaces, and natural accents are incorporated into furniture making biophilic design approachable and functional.
